The first half was one of the best Werder teamplay-performances I've ever seen. Great combinations, rocksolid defense and nice individual moments. It seems like every move just went perfectly right. 2 very nice goals (Hunt, Naldo). Özil had a big chance to score the third goal, but Bilbaos keeper wasn't bad.
But then - it wouldn't be a real Werder game if they just played it cool - something always has to happen.
This time it was Peter Niemeyer's turn, who came into the match after 60 minutes, just to leave it again 4 minutes later, after two very stupid "one step too late"-fouls and 2 yellow cards
Bilbao started pushing hard so the remaining 30 minutes brought every fan close to heart attacks. But the team fought well and even while Bilbao scored in the 91", Frings managed to score a penalty in the 94" so we won 3:1
But that's one thing we all love about Werder - almost every match is entertaining.
