Bundesliga side Werder Bremen are weighing up a bid during the January transfer window for highly-rated Manchester City winger Bersant Celina, an exclusive report by The Sun claims.
The 21-year-old has impressed on loan at Championship side Ipswich Town, recently striking one of the best long range goals of the season, but his hopes of a breakthrough at City appear slim with so much talent in the attacking areas.
Predominantly playing on the left flank, Celina has scored 8 goals for Ipswich since his loan switch and his form has attracted the interest of Werder, as well as Espanyol in Spain and Italian side Torino.
Werder are aware that Celina has a recall option in his loan deal and
are considering a cash bid before the winter transfer window closes.
And conscious that the Kosovo international isn’t likely to make the breakthrough at the Etihad despite his talent, City may be open to doing business with the German side.
Celina has made four appearances in total for the Blues, all of them in Manuel Pellegrini’s final season at the club, after which the youngster signed a new deal and was sent to FC Twente on loan.
